Hello everybody,

My name is Rishi B Chandra and I recently graduated from college and started working as a Financial Analyst with a Fortune 500 Company. 2 months ago I started working on a project of my own and launched it on Kickstarter. It is live right now and we were able to fulfill 200% of our goal in 3 days. This took a lot of effort to make it happen and therefore I was wondering if people could share whether they work FT on these projects or just PT and how they manage these projects on a regular basis.

I am a recent college graduate so I am just looking for some advice and ideas to grow my project as well as become more efficient in the work I do. By the way here is a link to my project, it;s called the Car Doormat - http://kck.st/1wHshze

Looking forward to hear everyones thoughts and ideas.

Best,
Rishi :D

I suggest you read the forum a bit to see where links & questions go. Ok, now that I'm done with that. Welcome.

As a backer, and unemployed, I do this part-time around my health issues. When I ran projects it took a good 20+ hours a week, good spreadsheet skills, using my social media platform appropriately, and failing at a lot of things.

What I've learned since then: Running a Kickstarter might be a full-time job, you should probably build buzz before you start your campaign, social media platform is important, staying on top of comments on Kickstarter is important, regular updates are critical (during and after campaign), and it's exhausting so make sure you have a good support system, eat and sleep properly.

My involvement is an adjunct to my main hobby. I am addicted to collecting many different items and I also like to create and share my ideas for some of those items. So far I have not had a successful Kickstarter project but have backed dozens of them. As a result I have acquire some amazing deals, some beautiful creations and made contact with many people who share some of my interests. I have a couple of projects that I am working on now though that I think will finally help me to achieve a little success. I think that the level of participation depends as much on personal needs as it does to any particular amount of time that you are able to spend.
