I'm trying something out. So far it's not working. Though I'm not sure why, maybe someone can say. I'm splitting a project in two.

Basically, people pledge $1 at the beginning and get a bookmark/postcard. Then from the number of bookmarks sold I know how many people want the book, and I can keep them informed with updates while the book is build. Then when built I create a second project to print the book. That's when people can pledge more and get better rewards.

That's the theory. So far it's not working out.

Here's an example in use: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jo ... hlon-trial

Deleted my comments as a rereading of your project the stretch goals explain things better than much of the text.

If I understand this right:

1. Pledge gets postcard
2. More pledges mean postcards get printed
3. More pledges still = electronic version of comic book
At which point you'd run a new Kickstarter for the print version

Am I correct in the above summary?

If so I'm going to take a stab at a few reasons why your Kickstarter is not doing well.
1. The above is not clear
2. The real goal that most people backing a comic book for is a print version as well as special add-ons/prints is not part of this Kickstarter

I don't know how much these might factor in:
1. Topic is not typical - specific sport
2. All white males
3. No super powers or supernatural
4. Very little graphic examples given - makes sense since it's only a postcard but to convince people you can do a full-length comic they probably want to see at least a full page with characters and dialogue
