The Pen Rest had to have the following features for me...

It must be a solid object with weight that stopped it sliding about
It needed a delicate shelf to place my pen horizontal on it.
Visually appealing I wanted to be able to admire my pens
A Modular Stackable design I have no idea how many pens I might have now or in the future so I wanted to be able to build on my Pen Rest and keep its aesthetic appeal.
