The product is interesting and I might be tempted in backing it.
Some missing details: how often will it be necessary to replace the filters and the lightbulb? Can the filters be cleaned or what maintenance is needed? What are the indicators that replacement is needed?
Globally, the structure is good and engaging enough to continue reading through the page. Some pictures & tables are too small to be read on a mobile device. The links to official websites and test results are interesting enough to take a second look theough a bigger screen, which is something I don’t often do.
It is always best that filters are changed every 6 months. Our ultra-efficient and high power UVC bulbs will last 9,000 hours of operation. We will also offer both filters and bulbs for the lowest price ever to Kickstarter backers. You can purchase them upfront to last you years and years to come.

0 maintenance is needed. There are easy to remove thumb screws at the bottom of the unit that do not require any tools to change out the HEPA filter.

Great tip about the text being too small to read on mobile. We will fix that. Clean-tech is the most powerful and safest UVC air purifier on the market, a technology that's been proven for decades and trusted to actually kill germs & bacteria, not just filter it from the air and collect dust.

I'd like to address ANY and ALL questions or even hesitations you have before purchasing our product on Day 1 when we launch (October 12). We've created truly revolutionary technology that's needed right now and want you to experience it first, as well as save 65% off ($199 Kickstarter special vs $799).

Can we count you in as a backer?

Hi,
I'm here to offer, as requested with a giveaway contest, my feedback on your project that involves a topic that I've recently become interested in and that I'm looking into to buy a suitable innovative product.

About the video:
  • it was easy to understand even though I am neither a native English speaker nor have a strong knowledge of the language.
  • Personally I got distracted during the "interviews" because I am not very convinced or interested in other people' general opinions, especially after the experience and knowledge of several projects on Ingiegogo (and generally having this funding formula) that turned out to be a scam or closed later for various problems.
Good feedback. We're actually in the process of reaching out to the most respected doctors and thought leaders for a simple Zoom interview. Dr. Drew, Dr. Oz, Doctor YouTube thought leaders would be the ideal target. I agree, credibility and trust is earned over years. We're committed to this but it's been difficult getting review samples in the hands of these people amidst COVID-19.
  • I would therefore suggest to summarize in the video the operation of the product with graphics and / or animations especially of the features that differentiate it from the rest of the market, similar to those present in the description below so that you can immediately understand what you are looking at even if you do not pay attention to the entire text below. This includes the reference to the effectiveness against coronavirus. The new video I think should be less than 10 min long to be appreciated by a wide audience.
Yes, we agree. We are going to add text callouts and also visualizations to show the differences with our product compared to the competitors. We understand that this is a product that requires in-depth explanation and education. Which format of video do you like the best? Hype/product focus, unboxing style, expert/doctor testimonials, or media feedback.

Regarding the description of the product and its characteristics:
  • It is described to you that the product uses two filtering steps: the first one by HEPA filter but there is no description in the same paragraph of the related H10 filtering level (which I noticed in an image only while writing this feedback)

Are you asking for two separate breakdown images? Similar to this Image or this Image

nor if there is a function that warns you when to replace it and at what cost. Also, how does it compare with other products that claim to perform a purification without having to use disposable filters (obtaining a lower environmental impact and lower recurring costs) such as https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/worl ... x/17475828#/ or https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/brid ... x/17475828#/ both already available for purchase?
While I cannot speak to the competitors technology, HEPA and UVC light are the two most researched and effective ways to cleaning the air. Washing filters may create mold in your home, and not replacing filters is negating the effectiveness of an air purifier.
  • the other part of filtering, the main part of the product, is the UV lamp. I have read and seen several products that use UV (such as those mentioned above) but they warn that the use of this technology has as a side effect the generation of ozone that is dangerous to health depending on the amount generated.

Clean-tech does NOT generate any ozone, nor does it leak dangerous UVC radiation/light.

How much ozone does this product produce? Are there tests carried out that confirm that value?
  • Perhaps the image in the section of the room divided with the words "large space", "small space" (this https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/030/66 ... 85e19c1647) could be unclear because at first I thought they were two models of the product based on the size of the room. I suggest to use the product image only once and write the calculations and colors next to it and also use the metric system.
Good feedback, we will fix this.
  • About the comparison table (I don't know if you can do it freely) wouldn't it be better to include the most famous products as a comparison? So that even the user interested in changing his product or who already had an idea of what to buy can have more precise and concise information to encourage him to choose this project instead.
Good feedback, we weren't able to include multiple competitors because it is not easily seen on mobile. Do you think we should have an image like this highlighting that indeed we have the most powerful and safest unit on the market? Image

  • There is no description of whether the UV lamp needs to be changed and when and, for the international public, with which power supply it is compatible (and if the corresponding country adapter is also provided).
  • There is also an error of the shipping date in the timeline (Febrary 2020 has already passed and is not in succession with the previous dates).
Filters need to be changed every 6 months, and bulbs need to be changed every 9,000 hours. We are going to allow Kickstarter backers the ability to buy them upfront and save for many, many years to come. Thanks for the typo correction as well.

I'd like to address ANY and ALL questions or even hesitations you have before purchasing our product on Day 1 when we launch (October 12). I have a bunch of experience with air purifiers, and I actually have had a few with UVC in my home right now. Also, have a background in marketing, so hopefully you don't take offense at some of the more honest feedback.

Feedback makes us all better. No offense is ever taken, all we want in this world is to become better versions of ourselves and create better products in the world. THANK YOU for your honest feedback.

You have a very confusing story. I *think* you are trying to convey a story of "proven HEPA level filtration for large particulates + proven hospital grade germ killing UVC light enhanced with Cleantech reflector technology"

This tagline is so good we want to use it! Check the campaign in a couple days after we make this revision.

But you're shifting all over the place -- "better than HEPA" (when you have a HEPA filter), "revolutionary technology" (but it's not the UVC light that's revolutionary....it's the reflector, right?),

There's 4 things that make Clean-tech unique - 1.) Design - Ultra small, compact form factor that exposes the air to the UVC light for as long as possible. 75% of the air purifier length provides UVC exposure. No other company does this 2.) Mirror Grade Reflection - We line the inner chamber with a material that's 30% better than stainless steel, or what other competitors use. 3.) Strongest Bulb - We use a dual cathode, ultra efficient and powerful UVC lamp 4.) Airflow technology - We slow down the air in the chamber to give it the longest exposure time, and then cycle it through the room as quick as possible.

then juxtaposed with "technology that hospitals have used for years...." You have to come up with a clear story. You're clearly going for the Dyson feel, but they very clearly denote a benefit ("7x the suction of any other vacuum") with a very clear technology that you don't even really need to understand ("the Dyson digital motor" -- I have no clue what that is!)

Interesting, what taglines do you think we should use? 3X the power of the best selling UVC air purifier competitor on the market good enough? 30% more efficient with mirror grade reflection technology. Clean the air 3 times every hour in your room. 99.97% effective at killing germs & viruses.

The Video

- :53 -- confusion with story: the "first device to harness the power of UVC light" but then immediately it's "3x better than the leading UVC air purifier on the market. Which is it? Are you the first or are you not?

We're the first to harness medical grade UV-C light technology in this small of a form factor. Did you see our UV light intensity chart? https://ksr-ugc.imgix.net/assets/030/75 ... 315dc7e261. We are 3x more powerful than Germ-Guardian's best selling UVC air purifier. Was this not clear? How can we make it more clear?

- 1:40 -- the greatest medical minds...then pops up Dr. Lee, who is clearly a children's dentist. No offense to Dr. Lee, who I am sure is a great dentist, but neither his profession nor the ridiculous circus background gives me any confidence in whatever he is saying. Also, this is new, right? So where exactly did he "research" and find your product? Hmmmmm. And again with the clearly scripted language around"there's nothing out there right now...." Really? Again, you have a CHART FULL OF COMPETITORS....so clearly there is stuff out there already?

Great feedback! We are in the process now of interviewing as many specialists as possible. Would it be better just to quote other thought leaders in the mean time? There's multiple research articles from the FDA and NIH proving that our technology works. UVC light at high enough intensity and time exposed. Thoughts?

- "We're a leader". -- is this a new company? or an established one?

Our company and the technology behind the product is backed by Xiaomi, a $50 billion dollar, company that makes Uber's scooters and is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world.

- Super73 -- why waste valuable seconds detailing the sanitizing procedures or some store and then the weird ad for themselves "we only make the best products..."

Good feedback. We are removing this.

- Two random guys at the end -- are you guys the creators? Who was the older gentleman before? Maybe you guys should caption names? And guys, maybe I'm old fashioned, but it doesn't scream credibility of the world's greatest medical minds when one guy is wearing capri pants for a campaign asking for my money.

Everyone mentioned are team members. The two guys at the end are the co-founders, and the older gentleman does business development. We will add captions with titles later. That was so funny regarding the capri pants BTW. We shot that video on the fly as a placeholder, a more polished version will be made later.

The Campaign Page

- Just a bunch of ordering issues. There's a lot of fluff in the beginning. I actually would love the Two Stage Filtration graphic much more upward.

Yes. We will move the Two Stage filtration graphic higher. Which one do you like better here? Image or this Image

- It's vs Its. It's = It is. Its is what you want when your headline says "its size." "Their" does not need quotes in the same graphic.

We will fix this.

Overall, I think you have a great campaign. I just think you'd be more successful with much clearer messaging around the story.

Is it a good enough campaign for us to count you in as a backer on Day 1 at 65% off? What else can we do to make it so convincing that it becomes one of the most crowdfunded projects of all time? We're thinking we need more press & media mentions, as well as top thought leader doctor reviews.

A virus is something totally different from a germ. So that is is proven germ killing does not mean it's automatically a covid killer. Later on page you show it is said to be good against covid but firts 2 times you mention just germs

Good catch on this! We didn't want to get too technical and thought that people would just do the research on their own about UVC light. Would it be beneficial for us to provide research articles from the FDA - NIH - Dctors, and other well respected universities to prove the effectiveness of our product and technology? Similar to a medical journal report?

Do you also have plugs for europe and what are the shipping costs? And how would we get replacement filters?
Yes, we will have plugs for Europe. Yes we will have replacement filters and bulbs upfront for customers to purchase.

I definitely prefer visualizations regarding the product as it is built (product focus so), because the structure and numbers that indicate its features (and their effectiveness) are objective, immutable and verifiable, while opinions tend to be subjective and changeable over time.

While I cannot speak to the competitors technology, HEPA and UVC light are the two most researched and effective ways to cleaning the air. Washing filters may create mold in your home, and not replacing filters is negating the effectiveness of an air purifier.
Since you said that the filters need to be changed every 6 months and the uv lamp every 9000 hours there is a way to understand when the time has come (for example a led that indicates the health of the components) or do you need to manually mark when you changed last time?

I also believe that although a washable filter not cleaned properly can create mold, having it instead of a disposable filter is worth the risk because in the long run it would create a better environmental impact and a greater likelihood to be able to use the device years after production, when the replacement parts may no longer be on sale (especially for people like me who do not stock up before but buy when needed). As I read already in another comment, reusability without depending on external factors and recurring costs, I think it is particularly requested by people, which could be the killer feature of the success of the product.

No, I think that such an image without explanations can generate other conflicting questions (for example: why is it better than such a famous product? Is it true?).
You could add the names of such famous products under the categories already present in the table, in the type row or since you can't lengthen the table because of the mobile vision I think you have to use another way to intuitively compare products, for example the use of the famous quality/price ratio. In this case, simplifying it could be calculated as follows:

SIZE = smallest tested particle size that the product can filter/purify
EFFICACY = estimated percentage of filtration of this particle (SIZE)
TIME = estimated time needed to purify a room of 100 square meters (as example, a fixed size)
QUALITY = SIZE*EFFICACY/TIME
COSTS = sum of estimated prices incurred in a year of use excluding factors external to the product such as electricity cost but including replacement parts costs
Value QUALITY/PRICE = QUALITY*COSTS

I am not an expert in this field, this is just an example of how you could compare products without a table of characteristics. Once you have calculated this value for the various products to compare you could say that your product has a better ratio of 100% (for example) than other competitors. In order not to make it difficult and long page you could provide the intermediate calculations in a link for example by writing "If you want to know how we came to this conclusion then look at the calculations made here".
In this way you would provide a verifiable argument and not a subjective one as it is a normal opinion and therefore more impressive and respectable.

Also in the current table "Whisper Quiet" and "Every 6 months" are colored full of green on your product but not on those compared with the same description (which I understand that makes yours stand out from the competitors but having the same text seems an inconsistency).

As I described above I try to make purchases that last over time and especially after having already bought and had experience with filter purifiers, I realized how problematic it is to rely on replacement parts that in most cases are of specific shape and that over time could stop being produced.
So even for me the characteristic of a product to be functional without relying on certain non-reusable components is fundamental and make the projects that claim to follow this behavior the first choice in my list of products to choose from. So I suggest changing the HEPA filter to a reusable one (or a different system) so it would certainly become a product that will be among the first that I will take into account.
As far as the UV lamp is concerned, if the product is sealed to not allow light leakage how can it be replaced?

Sorry for the late reply -- been swamped at work. :)

I took a look at the revisions on the page, and they look great! I especially like the new product graphics. Your message is getting much clearer, which is always what I look for in a campaign. You just gotta hammer home the HEPA + the only medical grade UVC light in a consumer air purifier = we're the best messaging.

As for the Dr. Lee "testimonial," I'm torn -- on one hand, people like "real people" vs quotes/text to read. But at the same time, I have such a bad reaction to a children's dentist with a circus background (and again, no offense meant to Dr. Lee) doling out scientific/medical endorsements.

When is this launching?

Just a couple of notes...

The first thing I missed was "Why". Why are you creating this product? Even if it is just the expansion of your product line, letting the potential backer know why, first thing, will help the backer form a connection to the company and product. Especially since this is probably a reaction to COVID.

Second, several of the tiers are missing from the list of rewards, and based on the one available it looks like you are only going to sell 1750 units. That is quite limiting. I assume you will add new reward entries based on projected delivery dates as needed. Adding an explination of when the rewards will be add with the why from above will let the user know there is not a limit, but add an imperitive as pledging now may mean recieving the product months earlier than pledging later.

Third on the comparison graphic, on the maintenance line your product is marked with green dot for maintenance with the text of "Every 6 months", but the tranditional air purifier has the same text but the half yellow marker. This seems sketchy, you should either use the same symbol for the two, or add more text to explain the difference (footnote if it is complicated). Giving both the 3/4 symbol would even make it seem more honest as it is not as good as No Maintenance.

I just notice the same issue applies to the Quiet Operation, three have the same text, but your product has a green dot, but the others have the 3/4 dot. Again, I would recommend downgrading yours, or explain the difference, or even add dB ratings if they support your assertions.

In general, you may want to footnote your comparision chart with supporting documentation. Let's the backer know that the chart isn't just made up.
