You may wonder, different from other campaigns, our Facebook group comes first. It is because we could create many innovative applications of meditation with EEG technology, such as providing biofeedback and health monitoring, and current functions of Flowtime is just a beginning. We warmly welcome you to join our Facebook Group Flowtime Meditation Angel User Community, to discuss your dream features of Flowtime with our founders, product managers and engineers. Maybe the next function is defined by YOU!
Meditation helps us relax. When we meditate, we can let go of our thoughts and emotions, and let our bodies and minds heal. In today’s fast-paced modern society, we want to experience all of the science-based benefits of meditation for our mental health and physical wellbeing. However, meditation and mindfulness are hard for most people to get into. And, sometimes, we have to do a lot of meditating to get real results.
When we do exercise, we have a fitness trackers to monitor body, the heart rate and calories, etc. But have you desired to know how your brain and body react to meditation? Any device could do that as well?
Luckily, Flowtime is here to help!
The most thrilling thing is the two-channel EEG acquisition technology monitors brainwaves in real time and distinguish brainwave energy from left to right-hemisphere, while the heart-rate sensor also tracks your heart constantly. It’s amazing to see how your body and brain are changing when meditating.
The real-time data matters when you are doing meditation, while rich data report after practice is also crucial to the measurement of your practice every time and insights of your progress. The sensors passively sense your brain and heart activities and the app translates them into visualized graphs of your body performance. You would be eager to see how well you perform after you practice.
For the beginners, meditation lessons are decisive while it’s hard to find the professional ones. In order to provide qualified content that is indeed helpful, we investigated and compared content from many companies, and finally cooperate with Mobio Interactive, an outstanding and rigorous Canadian company experienced in mindfulness. The lessons they offer have been scientifically validated to improve stress resilience in a random controlled trail completed in collaboration with Mobio Interactive and the University of Toronto.
To meditate is to feel free, which guides us in appearance design. Our excellent design partner Piero got the inspirations from humming bird. The ultra-slim design makes the headband imperceptible and incredibly light, only 25g, while the rubber band on the back keeps it on perfect position, especially suitable for running meditation and yoga meditation. Ergonomics studies have been made to include a wide range of users: the elastic rubber band in two sizes are flexible to adapt to different head circumference.
Meditation is not just a spiritual experience. Science can explain what meditation does to your brain. Brain waves, which are electromagnetic energy, reflect what’s happening in your brain.
Flowtime is an innovative way to understand what is going on in your head as you practice and make the insensible change inside the brain visualized in the app. Whether you practice on your own or guided by a mentor, the data helps to find out whether you are focusing on meditation or distracted.
Many people think meditation is difficult to learn because they cannot get deep enough to impact their subconscious. People often cannot get into it in a way that truly makes a difference. But Flowtime will tell you it does make differences!
Meditation practitioners generally experience a lower heart rate and blood pressure. Some individuals experience a decline at rest of 7-15 beats per minute. Heart rate variability (HRV) is another key indication of especially your nervous system, stress and recovery activity, but also overall health as well as general fitness.
Scientific studies have shown that meditation transforms the way brain acts to stress and other passive emotions. That is why two-channel EEG sensors are necessary to make Flowtime be able to distinguish brainwave energy from left to right. You’ll know from the graph how meditation helps you with the positive emotion which is primarily processed by the left hemisphere and negative the right.
The more you practice, the more you realize the gap between you and experienced meditators becomes smaller and know better where you are going.
Long-term meditation is a tool that helps our brains evolve and develop more compassion towards ourselves as well as others. Neurofeedback is what makes Flowtime truly different from anything you have tried before.
The science behind meditation seeks to understand the brain wave activities that can be measured using an electroencephalograph (EEG). There are five major categories of brain waves, each corresponding to different activities:
The two different modes all aim to bring joy, peace, and a sense of clarity to your everyday life. The options are great for meditation and mindfulness, and will positively change your life.
In order to create a comfortable wear and appearance, our hardware engineers put a lot of effort into including all the circuitry into a 16*35mm space. With continuous optimization, the power consumption has been reduced greatly, with the operating electric current as low as 5mA and the standby electric current at only 2uA. A one-time charge can last for more than 10 hours. The acquisition accuracy of EEG sensors has reached 3uV (microvolts).
Our hardware engineers also created an innovative device structure. For example, a unique tablet-type elastic electrode is designed to be only 7mm thick. This not only ensures good electrode contact, but also provides a comfortable fit. The electrode is made of medical-grade silver chloride, which prevents allergies and makes the signal more accurate.
Each time the user blinks, the action will be detected by our data collection sensor and displayed on our real-time data graph within 200 milliseconds. An eye blink corresponds to a peak on the data graph.
We are the Entertech team, engaged in brain science study for years and are leading the world in technologies like consumer-grade EEG acquisition algorithms that can play an active role in assisting people who meditate.
Therefore, to help more people benefit from meditation and meditate correctly and efficiently, we came up with the idea of Flowtime, a device that can monitor brain waves, heart rate and heart-rate variability during meditation and generate detailed reports. The word “flow” can be defined as an “optimal state of consciousness where we feel our best and perform at our best.” Flow refers to those “in the zone” moments where focus gets so intense that everything else disappears. Therefore, Flowtime is the best description of entering the meditative state.
With precise data and guidance from well-designed courses by Mobio Interactive Inc., users will learn meditation more efficiently and effectively than ever before, as well as learn more about their own levels of meditation so that they can closely monitor their practice. We hope Flowtime will become the best companion for meditation and help our customers enjoy a healthier life.
Thanks for believing in us!
