Our Story

My husband (Ryan) and I (Natalie) after a Waashi photo shoot.

My daughter, Gianna with an early prototype.
My daughter, Scarlett with an early prototype.

First a special thanks to my family and my Waashi team (Hayden, Lucy, and my wonderful partners/vendors)!  Now for the story... As a stay at home mom for 10 years, I have been in very sticky situations with my kids, from changing diapers in the back of an SUV to agonizing over candy coated hands at the playground with nowhere to clean up.  In recent months, we have been very diligent in hand washing and using hand sanitizer after every outing.  One day after soccer camp and running various errands, we all had used hand sanitizer five to ten times.  At the end of that day, we didn’t feel clean at all, and a light bulb went off.  I told my husband about my idea for an on the go personal portable hand washing system.  We were shocked when we did a search and couldn’t find anything that would work day after day (use after use) in a compact self-contained form, so we decided to make our own. Waashi was born.

After many prototypes and real-world testing, we created a solution that we use every day.  Anywhere from camping trips, to the grocery store, or washing hands before a meal at an outdoor restaurant (since many bathrooms are now closed to the public).  It quickly became an everyday item for our vehicle.

We created two versions of the Waashi.  The Waashi: Go is a smaller version for everyday use in vehicles and smaller spaces.  The Waashi: Pro has been ideal on family vacations as it affords more features including storage of pots and pans, a cutting board, and extra water storage.  Both have been a life-saver for cleaning our dirty hands, but in addition, we use it while camping to brush our teeth and wash our faces, wash our dishes, and even fill up our dog’s water bowl.

We have been asked so many times, “What is that?” or “That’s cool. Where can I get one?” and since it has really improved our life, we want to share it with you.  It has blessed our family during these unprecedented times, giving us the freedom to explore and live life on the go with clean hands.

Wishing you the best of health - Natalie (Waashi's CEO/Founder)
