Ecoute audio already delivered the TH1 through Kickstarter, making this their second campaign with real production and fulfillment under their belt. The team includes Kendall Liddle (20+ years in product development) and Joshua Fairbairn (CEO of MorphoMFG, a contract manufacturing company in Guangzhou). Funding in minutes and surpassing $200K in the first 24 hours shows serious backer confidence.

This is the world's only headphone with a built-in vacuum tube preamp and dual-mono architecture, essentially a complete hi-fi system on your head. The Korg Nutube 6P1 dual triode handles voltage gain while discrete Class A/B amplification drives each channel independently. With Bluetooth 5.3 (AAC + LDAC), lossless USB-C digital audio, analog 3.5mm, and a 32-bit/384kHz DAC, the connectivity options are audiophile-grade.

Ecoute offers a lambskin leather upgrade as an add-on rather than making it default, giving buyers a choice. The team has been transparent about production timelines and manufacturing processes, with general retail expected September 2026. The fact that they successfully delivered the TH1 and iterated on feedback for the TH2 shows a responsible development cycle.

Kickstarter backers can save up to $300 off the $999 retail price, with early bird pricing starting around $749. For headphones packing a vacuum tube preamp, dual-mono DAC/amp, and premium build quality, this competes with desktop hi-fi setups costing significantly more. The optional $50 lambskin pad upgrade is a nice touch without inflating the base price.
