The SOVYRGN Calendar is inspired by our fascination with time and the machines that represent its irrevocable essence. It was developed by embracing the significance of quality and craftsmanship in the creative design and production process.

The Calendar design is the result of numerous design iterations with the ultimate goal of creating a truly unique timepiece that is capable of inspiring confidence and intrigue while being a representation of success and distinction. 

The Panda

The Panda reference features a steel case and bracelet, a matte white dial with diamond patterns and black sub-dials mimicking the black and white facial features found in Pandas, as well as red accents and black hour markers.

The Rose-White

The Rose-White reference features a PVD rose gold case and bracelet, a matte white dial with a diamond pattern as well as red and rose gold accents.

 The Steel-Aqua Blue 

The Steel-Aqua Blue reference features a steel case and bracelet, a matte aqua blue dial, as well as navy-blue sub-dials with orange accents. Commonly believed to have color similarities to the fabled Porsche Gulf livery.

The Rose-Aqua Blue 

The Rose-Aqua Blue reference features a PVD rose gold case and bracelet, a matte aqua blue dial as well as navy-blue sub-dials with orange accents. Commonly believed to have associations to the fabled Porsche Gulf livery.

 The Rose-Wine

The Rose-Wine reference features a PVD rose gold case and bracelet, a purple sunburst dial capable of creating delicate light reflections enhancing the rose gold accents, is also commonly called the Ir0n-Man watch (PS: this is just a nickname and has no connection to the Marvel character).

The Midnight Edition

The Midnight Edition reference features a black DLC case and bracelet, a purple sunburst dial capable of creating delicate light reflections enhancing the rose gold accents.

The Case  

The Calendar features an angular octagonal case made of 316L stainless steel making the watch durable and proportionately weighted. This case is finished in a combination of circular and vertical brushing as well as some polished surfaces. It is also designed to withstand water resistance for up to 100M (10 ATM).

• Thickness: 12.6mm (without the crystal)
• Water Resistance: 100m (10 ATM) 

 The Dial 

The dial comes in in two configurations: sunburst and matte. The sunburst dial is implemented in the Midnight Edition and the Rose-Wine references. 

The matte dial with the diamond pattern is implemented in the Panda, and Rose-White as well as the Steel - Aqua Blue and Rose - Aqua Blue configurations. 

 

The Bracelet  

The bracelet is a custom stainless steel bracelet with a dual deployment clasp. It also has both vertical brush and polished finishing. It features female solid end links with quick-release spring bars making it easy to switch to a learher strap for a more dressy look. The bracelet is 20mm tapering to 16mm at the clasp.

The Movement 

The Calendar features a Miyota 9100 calibre premium automatic movement with a decorated rotor.  The movement boasts 5 complications which include a 40hr power reserve indicator, a month/day indicator as well as a 24hr display and a date.  The specs for the movement include: 

•  Accuracy  of  -10 ~ + 30 sec per day 
•  Running Time - 40hrs 
•  Vibration Frequency - 28800/hr 
•  Number of Jewels - 26pcs 

The Lume

The Calendar features BGW9 Superluminova on the hour and minute hands as well the applied indices. 

The Packaging

 All SOVRYGN Calendar watches are going to be packaged in a custom single spot travel watch case. We have chosen this as a sustainable option instead of the bulky traditional watch boxes that don't serve much use and occupy lots of space in your home.

• For the final production version, the case thickness would be reduced from 13mm to 12.6mm 

 

• The brand text (SOVRYGN) on the left side of the case would be removed from the final production version.

 

• The size of the crown on the prototypes is currently 5.5mm and it would be increased to 7mm in the final production.

 

•  The date text for the Steel-Aqua Blue and the Rose-Aqua Blue would be changed from white to dark blue matching the sub-dials and for better legibility. 

 

• The inward flex of the bracelet would be more flexible to ensure that the watch fits true to size.

 Warranty 

 All SOVRYGN Calendar watches would have a 2-year international manufacturer’s warranty. 

Kickstarter allows creators to display their projects on the platform in order to attract backers on/off the platform to help make their dreams a reality. The timeline below shows how long it would be from when the campaign launches to the delivery of the product after a successful campaign. Please keep in mind there is a possibility for early delivery the timeline just gives us an estimate of the delivery. 

 

The SOVRYGN brand was founded by Hamzat a watch enthusiast who is originally from Nigeria and moved to Canada in 2011 to study Engineering. Before moving to Canada, he has always had a passion for watches owing to his curiosity about how things worked and receiving them as gifts during his childhood.

 

In the final years of high school and in university Hamzat started collecting and flipping watches for some extra cash. He also had a business where he served as a finder helping customers source timepieces, in addition to that he also operated a website selling watches from brands like Citizen, Bulova, Orient and some fashion brands like Guess and Michael Khors.

 

Considering the experience gained collecting, selling, and enjoying watches in combination with the design experience gained while studying to become an engineer Hamzat developed the SOVRYGN brand to express his creativity. The Calendar collection further showcases Hamzat’s superpower in his ability to bring different elements (in this case the 5 complications of the Calendar) together to create perfect harmony on the dial.
