This is Mike Klein's first Kickstarter, born from a relatable frustration: his backup camera was dirty more often than not, especially in winter. What he lacks in campaign experience, he makes up for with a focused, specific, real-world problem that resonates instantly. The overwhelmingly positive press coverage and strong backer response speak to a product that has clearly struck a nerve.

Lens Lizard solves one of those annoyingly overlooked automotive problems with a clever, clean solution: a remote-controlled wiper that installs on your backup camera and clears snow, salt, and grime at the press of a button. It's compact, practical, and designed to fit a wide range of vehicles. Sometimes the best design is the one that just works, and Lens Lizard nails that brief.

Mike's origin story is refreshingly personal and grounded, and the campaign is honest about limitations including shipping availability being limited to certain countries. There's no flashy sustainability section, but the product itself is durability-first and solves a safety issue (being able to actually see behind your car), which carries its own ethical weight. More transparency on materials and manufacturing would round this out nicely.

Super Early Bird pricing starts at $99 (vs. MSRP of $149.99), with early bird at $109 and Kickstarter price at $119. A bundle deal is also available at $189. For a plug-and-play solution to a problem drivers deal with constantly, especially in snowy or muddy climates, the price point feels very fair.
