Tilswall has been building lightweight DIY tools and coating systems since 2021, so they're no strangers to hardware manufacturing. This is their first Kickstarter campaign, but they come in with real production experience and an existing product line. The campaign has already blown past its funding goal, which speaks to solid backer trust out of the gate.

At just 450 grams, the Hornet is practically weightless for a spray gun, and the palm-sized form factor means one-handed operation without the wrist fatigue. The 100,000 RPM brushless motor paired with dual copper nozzles (0.5mm for detail work, 0.8mm for coverage) shows serious engineering thought. Swappable batteries and three spray modes round out a design that feels both polished and practical.

The included peelable paint is water-based, non-toxic, odor-free, and manufactured in the US to meet environmental standards. Tilswall clearly thought about indoor use safety and eco-friendliness, which is refreshing in the power tool space. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery system also cuts down on disposable waste compared to traditional options.

Early backers can grab the Hornet at $129 against a planned retail price of $319, which is a substantial discount for what you're getting. For DIYers, hobbyists, and detail painters, that price point for a cordless, ultra-light HVLP sprayer is hard to beat. The included dual nozzles and peelable paint add even more bang for the buck.
