Welcome to the 42nd century. Humanity has reached incredible heights; they've built orbital structures as large as planets, moved worlds, and mined the Sun. The entire Sol System has been remade as they saw fit. 

But one thing still evades them: FTL (Faster than Light travel).

When I released Outsystem 10 years ago, I never imagined that Aeon 14 would grow into the massive universe it is today. Now, with over 120 books and millions of copies sold, Aeon 14 is one of the largest, internally consistent hard science fiction universes in existence!

I had dreams, but I never imagined they'd reach these levels. 

Though the journey to create Aeon 14 began many years before Outsystem was published on July 3, 2012, that date marks the beginning of a ride that has changed my life and the lives of many others. 

The books of Aeon 14 are the result of many people's efforts, co-authors bringing new ideas to the mix, artists creating covers, models who have done multiple photoshoots, editors who refined the words to the prose you now read, narrators who brought the books to new readers.

But it all started here. 

And now this special 10 Year Anniversary Edition, available in three different cover art versions!

These editions (and all 10th Anniversary items) will only be available via this Kickstarter.  Once it's over, they'll never be printed and sold again.

Cover 1 and 2 are new art featuring Tanis in iconic poses similar to earlier covers, while Cover 3 is a reprint of the second Outsystem cover. 

If you opt for the third cover, the interior is still the extended edition. If you want the full original wrap and original story, Tier XXX contains that edition as well.

Not only does Outsystem have an extended edition available just for backers, but there is an extended edition of the Intrepid Saga trilogy (of which Outsystem is the first book). 

The extended edition has over 300 pages of new content!

All three books in their extended formats clock in at over a thousand pages (though the largest book we can print has just over 800 pages, so we made it bigger and shrunk the font a touch).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast-paced, readable military SF (with humans instead of cardboard cut-outs!)

Well, about the humans I mentioned in the title -- at least they are characters with feelings and growth. Some of them are ... not entirely flesh and blood, let's say. (On the other hand, the current crop of idiots starring in those horrid superhero movies are 100% flesh and blood, and yet they have the acting range of a wooden plank. I'll take this book's characters.)

     Tanis Richards leads an exciting life, and the author shares it with us. The premise -- Major Richards serves as security officer for a colony ship being readied, in exchange for leaving with that ship -- puts her in the one place where she is perfectly credible as the centre of the storm brewing around her, and she grows with the challenges; some of the other characters are a little underdeveloped, but I have high hopes for the future in that regard. I am particularly interested if the next book will let me find out more about Trist and Joe, who seems to be getting together with Tanis.

     Regarding the "techno-babble" or absence thereof: I very much prefer for things just to *be*. No pages-long explanations about how the Alcubierre drive was developed for me, please. The author does not disappoint: The actions of the characters themselves make clear in which technological environment they act. Much better this way!

     Amazingly, for a self-published book, the subediting and proofreading was done very, very well. At a professional level, even. There are no mutilated phrases, "hoards" of dragons guarding "they're" "hordes" and other mistakes of this kind; such errors jar me badly enough to interrupt my suspension of disbelief, and here are no nasty interruptions, just very readable prose flowing with a tempo matched to the action.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Is What a Space Opera Should Be

I was in from the opening scene. I quickly became invested in the players, the program, and the playing field. Tanis Richards and the various teams that worked with her were immediately identified as interesting. Some were the good guys and some were the bad guys, but all were interesting... Space, discussed and defined in such great terms is awesome. So awesome it makes me want to come back in a couple thousand years and join the crew.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Strong heroine and fantastic plot! I'm a fan!

I just finished the audiobook of Outsystem and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a heck of a ride! It has a kick-ass heroine who can take care of herself, thank you very much, and pretty much non-stop action. There are some really creative solutions to equally creative problems, and I was constantly pulled along to the next page. I don't really know how good the science is, but I didn't really consider that question at all during the book. The writing made everything seem reasonable, which is a very neat trick for an author to have in their back pocket. I am thrilled to find an author who can write a strong woman in charge and keep a fabulous plot going at the same time, and intend to binge-listen to the next audiobooks in this series. MD Cooper is my new favorite sff author!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Action at every turn

A cocky protagonist saves the space colony from a nuclear explosion. What follows is a mystery / conspiracy laden sleuth in space with cyborg body parts, tech and AI. There is some character development but the real reason to get on this rollercoaster is for the non-stop thrills. The author writes excellent action scenes that put you in the moment. Worth the audible credit.
